The European Union’s decision to impose tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) has sent shockwaves through the market. The new tariffs, ranging from 17.4% to a hefty 37.6%, aim to level the playing field and curb what the EU describes as “unfair” state subsidies provided to Chinese manufacturers like BYD, Geely, and SAIC.
